Was wondering if anyone here who cuts 2" gator foam with a 2.25" CED, 1/4" shank Belin bit goes through with 1 or 2 passes?
I usually cut 1" or 1.5" stock and use the 1.5" Belin bit, and do this in 2 passes.
But due to a 2.25" long bit and the fact that I've never cut anything this thick, I was wondering if I should make 4 passes or 3? Or should it be done in as few as possible?
Usually I reduce my F & S to 12k RPM's @ 2 IPS, I'm just weary of the extra long expensive $50 bit. I don't have VAC hold down, jut DS tape, the throught of a fraction of that tip cutting into the spoilboard is stressing me a little. :)
