vfd usb cable + controller usb = shopbot crash?

when starting up computer and shopbot with both usb cables plugged in to adapter in usb of computer, shopbot seems to crash. when pressing ctrl+alt+delete: task manager shows 2 shopbots running and they crash each other. running new prs standard with 2.2 hp spindle. any ideas?
and does the vfd come preprogrammed from shopbot?

do not plug the usb from the vfd into the hub. Plug the vfd right into the computer.
