First,
I ain't no signmaker,
I do however cut for a couple of local shops. One has asked me about adhering alupanel[dibond] to Sintra sheet and then cut some large text
this will be an exterior sign in the Seattle area.
should I go with epoxy or is there a contact that may suffice?
thanks
Carl

Carl:
First of all I must say that I’m not a fan of Sintra in exterior applications. The colors will fade and unsupported sections will sag over time. That said the link below will give you suggestions as to fabrication and assembly techniques.
Gluing Dibond and Sintra may be a challenge as Dibond has coefficient of expansion equal to approximately .1 inch over 8’ for a 100°temperature change, while the same situation for Sintra equals about .317

Steve, thanks
yes I am concerned about the different expansion rates,
they want the sintra[pvc] to create dimension. and the dibond
as the face.
maybe one of th eHi-tech[$$]3M sealants for attachment, that can accommodate the changes.
I read once that 3M marine caulk will even stick polypropylene to itself,

I was told the core or center of dibond, alupanel etc is polyethelyene
may be hdpe [high density]
not pvc.
wish it was, would make some fabrication easier.

The good part of the PE core is that it can be flame polished!

Carl,
I've used Lords 7100 urethane to bond painted dibond to PVC and HDU but in very low risk situations (typical sign letter/component bonding). Exterior & overhead would be too risky for me combining PVC & Dibond.
Failing a known factory spec. process, I'd certainly cut the laminate someone provided for me.
