Long Life Tools

At the request of our customers and to further improve our tools we have been testing long life coatings on our BDP-3d ballnose cutters.

After months of testing we will be releasing these tools on our website over the next day or so.
I had decided to go with a Zirconium Nitride coating which provides 3 main benefits; protection of the cobalt binder, increase surface hardness and to add lubricity to the surface while extending the tool life 2 to 3 times.
These tools have been designated
BDP001 ZRN – coated 1/16” tapered ballnose,
BDP002 ZRN – coated 1/8 tapered ballnose
BDP003 ZRN – coated ¼” ballnose.

The BDP003 ZRN is still on final production run and will not be available until the end of this coming week (3-25-11)

do you know how much of a premium you will charge over the cost of your normal carbide 1/16 Ballnose?

The BDP ZRN tools have now all been updated Plus we have added the set to the website as the BDP-3d ZRN along with the individual tools

Gary, thanks for the package... that 30 degree v-bit is dual purpose,
cut a 3/d grizz on a slab of wood or use it on a tip of a spear and go get the real thing...
