Marine Memorial - Arlington National Cemetery
Material: Dupont Corian - Bone
Litho machined with a 0.050" ballnose with a 16% step over (0.008")
X,Y,Z feed rate @2.5
Spindle rpm @ 9,000
3hours, 32 minutes, 30 seconds
Recessed area of the litho is 9.25" x 7.5"
Overall Dim: 9.75" 8.0"
Tool Paths:
Outside Profile: 0.25" Carbide 0 (zero) flute - South East tools
Lithophane Boundary: 0.050" dia and .140 flute length Carbide Ballnose (unknown manufacture)
Offset Boundary: 0.050" dia and .140 flute length Carbide Ballnose (unknown manufacture)
I offset the litho boundary vector by 0.020" which is 0.005" smaller than half of the tool diameter of 0.050".
The purpose of this was to clean up and make the the wall of the litho boundary smooth to give it a finished look.
This was a last minute, I wonder if this will work / what if I did this.... I was pleased how it came out.
