Well I had some left over foam scrap from a sign that i did. I did not want to throw them away so I made the wife something. she is a librarian so this is a book dummy. it is put in place of a book when doing research so kids can get the book back in the right spot. I guess it is useful. the wife liked it and I tell you the idea here is take the time to make something for your wife what ever it may be. good things might/will happen!!! it is the little things that count. i do not understand her point system. seems like less really is more. now I am looking forward to making the other 5 book dummies. yes both sides are cut.

Steve, I like the book. My wife is a librarian too. I'll check to see if she'd like a few. Instead of "This is not a toy" you could call it "Book for Dummies" by Steven Outland.

Steve:
I like the attention to detail in your smaller projects. The backcutting of the inserts makes them terrific.
BTW: I was in my local Woodcraft store last week (unfortunately about to close down) and got into a chat there about hand planes. Wasn't long till your name came up and the guy there (Gus) knew all about them! Considering where I am you can only conclude good work has a long reputation.

Nice Steve!

Might be good way to promote your work.Make a few with your name on it and "donate" to locale library. It could also be tax deductible (tax time in my head)

BTW -Your right about keeping the wife happy!

let me tell you about supporting your wife. When asked how much my shop cost to build I always reply, "seven sewing machines"! When my quilter wife got her seventh sewing machine she asked, "when are you going to build your shop?" Well you know the rest! :) Great projects gang. Keep up the good work and thanks for posting. Very nice. The problem with the big projects is that they take too long, and wives do not like to be kept waiting!! A steady stream of little things lets her know you are thinking about her - all the time.

BTW do as I say not as I do!
