I built this Hope Chest for my Daughters upcoming wedding.
I first cut the walnut inlay parts. Then routered the inlay areas in the panels on the ShopBot. Then leaving the panels on the router table i glued in the inlays, let it dry and sanded the panels flat. When dry I reroutered the whole panel with perfect registration between the oak and walnut. The design in the front panel is patterned after the bridge the two were on when he asked her to marry. It has a red cedar floor, but no inside drawers or shelves per Jenni's request. This is the first time I used the Shopbot to do inlay work and I'm pleased with the fit of the parts.
