my first real 3d sign.

I need more samples but if I just make them to hang on the wall I don't do as well. this sign is for the furniture upholsterer's that I share a basement with. they get the fun part of sanding and painting it. It was all done in aspire the text was a pic of their card with my iphone. I am working on a couch too but not sure if I can get it right.
took far longer to get it drawn right then to cut it. the tack heads stick up too much but no one is perfect. I see the pics don't show the detail as well as I thought. the buttons are in the middle of indentations in a diamond pattern. it sure looks like upholstered furniture more then I thought it would. I will get a better pic of it or take a screenshot.

if I had to sand it I would have used a 1/4" bit (G) My hands don't do well with that kind of work and I could nto paint it well. I know I am no painter.

Nope, I took your suggestion and after a couple of stiff drinks, I took another look. That made it look more like a Pizza Pie than an apple pie. With some pepperoni it's a dead ringer.

For you guys who dabble in sign making and have a mental block about painting, let me say, I seldom use any brushes for painting. I finish most of my signs by masking. It's so easy and speeds up the finishing process. If a person pockets their letters and logo's there isn't even a need for masking.

Routing is just wonderful, but it's only a first step.

Now, plop down some cheese and pepper flakes on that pizza and call it quits.

the sanding is the hardest part for me my hands can't handle it. but I am a pretty poor painter too. but I made this fairly easy to paint. But the guy I made it for gave me the tips on what he wanted. nothing like getting dissed by the master.
