I apologize if this has been asked already - but I am a bit confused regarding the powerstick. I have a BT48 on order and it comes with the standard 4' powerstick. If I purchase a 6' powerstick what will my cutting dimensions increase to?

The stick is 2ft longer then the length it can mill. 4ft stick will make a BT48 a 24x48 inch machine. A 6ft long stick will make a 48x48 machine and so on. The machine comes standard 24x48

Look on the "Shopbot" main page for "Price list", on the left side of the page, download it and I think the price is on the 3rd page.

You need to buy the powerstick and the support system.

Well if nothing else its good to know that increasing the cutting area seems pretty straightforward:) So now the question is bigger powerstick or Aspire first?? :D

Don't know wat u using now.... but aspire is a great tool... i did have problems with photovcarve as it did not start the spindle... was like pulling teeth getting that fixed. i have 48 inch buddy and am considering larger powerstick. u can look at the general tutorials online before purchase. maybe that help with u decision.

good luck

If you are a software junkie (I am) you will not believe the things that Aspire is capable of. Another good point, I was planning on getting a Powerstick pretty soon, but when I saw how Aspire can tile toolpaths I was very impressed. I don't think it is going to be very difficult to do projects quite a bit larger than that table.
I bet if you download the demo and go thru all the tutorials you will be swayed.

VcarvePro can also tile your job but cut3d doesn't that i know of. The good thing about aspire is that you have just about everything you need in one package. I don't really need aspire but it would be nice. My cad/cam program had a lot of the same embossing texturing capabilities as aspire just not as easy to use. It's really up to what you need to do. In my area it's hard enough to get someone to pay for my work let alone the fancy 3d that may take hours on the machine. Most of them want as cheap as possible so 2d is most of what i do.
