I am cutting my new plenum out of 45# particle board and I asked the guy for some wood floor sealer to seal it but I notice the container says Waterborne wood floor sealer. I remember seeing a post a couple years back of someone who used a water sealer to seal the plenum and it disintegrated. I am now questioning if this will eat up the particle board anyone know the answer? The guy at the Hardwood place told me it would be ok but I do not want to lose the day’s work and $$ I put in yesterday.
Thanks Mike

It may be ok. but yellow glue thinned enough so you can brush or spray it works great and it dries faster then most things.

I ended up with a sliver of a piece when I trimmed the outside of the plenum so I stuck the end in the sealer it was only 1/8" thick and it did not hurt it so it should be ok if it was going to swell up that little piece would have swollen for sure.
I am thinking of using some left over latex paint after the sealer. I might just leave it with just the sealer it depends on how it looks.
Thanks Mike
