This one is square not turned, although I will do a turned version.
More basket weave stuff.

That is very beautiful work. My wife decided I was going to build a new dining room table even before my machine was delivered. That really gives me ideas.
Thanks for showing.

ANOTHER great job! Was this one continuous pattern that you were able to wrap around the square or did you have to model the 4 sides and try to line the patterns up? Looking forward to the NEXT neat design!:D

Hi Jack, I took one pattern and split it into 4 sides. A little tricky as the depth of cut one one side would affect the width on the other 2 sides.

hi Kevin, legs and post sales are slow yet, haven't done a lot of marketing for them. Lots of other work to get in the way.
How are things on the rock?

Stephen--
Great stuff, as always. In an earlier post, you mentioned that you "...took one pattern and split it into 4 sides." Did you then cut each side completely in place before rotating to the next or was the blank constantly rotating? Also, in your pictures, it looks like the surface of the weaves are rounded at the corners, making them look like they wrap around to the next side. How did you achieve this?

hi John, each side was cut seperatly,on the table not on the indexer, two toolpaths per side, one for the weave (different for each side) and one for the detail above and below the weave ( same toolpath for all sides). The weave was "blended" at the edges ( a feature in artcam) so the edges met, more or less, at the corners. Took some time to get the depth of cut and width of model to match. It was ment to look like it wraps around the post. I am going to try one in walnut with .3" maple inlaid where the weave is. I'll post results.
