I would shut everything down.
Shut the computer down

turn off the control box

go to your breaker box and shut the circuit to the bot off so that anything hiding in the memory is deleted and then re start everything.

Tried that.........it acts like the ground didn't ground, then shut itself down.

My zero refused to work last night. I spent a lot of time zeroing by eyeball. For what I was doing, I can eyeball it just about as good as anything- so I worked my way through it. And this happened right after a C3. I cleaned my grounding clip. Moved my grounding clip. Put the grounding clip directly onto the bit, etc. Nothing seemed to help last night. I finally finished my project around 12:45... LONG night in the shop. It was 1:30 before I made it to bed. Alarm went off at 5:30 this morning... I am not as clear as I would like to be, that is for sure!

I wonder if something occured during the C3 that became an issue... I will be checking my table ground, my connections at the controller and at computer, etc., tomorrow afternoon- when I start all over again!

(Maybe everyone's C2 function was messed up last night! But we were the only ones working on a project!)

Could it be the beginning of the end of the world?

Just later then everyone thought it would happen. :D

When my wire connected to my zero plate became loose my z zero would work intermittently. also when it did not work the z drive would drive the bit right down into the plate. now that i have tightened my very loose wire everything has been fine.

also,if you are using a router make sure the grounding screw is tight against the router.

John...
Did this happen, by chance, right after a pause during cutting a file? There is a reported issue with inputs not working correctly after a pause in a file.

I think it happened during a bit change.
I did finish by eyeball to set z zero.
Lucky I had my xy zeroed.
It worked fine the next day.

Have you just upgraded the SB control Software?

The new Z Zero routines have the second descent Z Depth hard coded. If your safe pull up height that you set in the options is higher than that hard coded Z depth the Z Zero will fail.

I modified my Z Zero routine to replace that hard coded depth to one that is greater than the Safe pull up you set in the preferences. I eventually changed it to a variable that was greater than the safe pull up height.

No upgrades.....I try not to ever change anything from "STOCK"......
Just so I can "Reload" something from the basic factory set up.
Lots less to think about......I'd rather design things than figure computer settings.
