I don't have the time to do a file for this in part works its very easy any takers ? I think using 3/4 plywood 2x
I made this well before I had the shopbot I use a skillsaw it took over twenty hrs
It can hold over 50 doors i cant picture shop with out one want to make a second one
Can e-mail larger photo for tracing

also i put wheels at the bottom and door BUMPER PADS on each rack so when you stain doulble side there wont be a line

What are you using for "bumper pads". I have made rectangle frames with nails shot up through the four corners on which the door sits. So, only a point of the nail touches the door. This leaves virtually undetectable marks and allows me to move the door while it's on the frame in and out of the spray booth and ultimately on to the drying rack.

I was a little concerned that there wasn't enough vertical clearance but That could easily be adjusted. I just threw this together in a few minutes in aspire.

I assume (I know, bad thing to do) that you spray the doors prior to placing them on the rack? Or is there enough room in the rake to spray them while they are in it?

I've never used this type of system before but wow, what a difference it would make in finishing. I'm really tempted to fire up Wall-E and make one.

To answer A question the door stop are rounded on top so there is not mark but use polyturne glue so they don't pop off
Place the doors after you spray Don after using this you won't go back its a huge shop improvment
i'll cut it next week

Great idea especially for a small shop that could disassemble it and reassemble it as needed.

Thanks for the file, I cut a few pieces and checked them out. To me it seams that the bars that the doors would rest on are a bit short especially for a wide door and a little to close together for the safety of loading and unloading without scratching the surfaces. So with that in mind I took the liberty of resizing them.
I hope that I have not offend anyone I'm just trying to improve on a really great idea.

JoeCNC's post seems to have disappeared. :\ Any hoo. I will make an offset as JoeCNC suggested and make em a little wider. My question is what should the column width be? I may have made it a bit thicker than required. As always stability is key. ideas?

I made the center column around 10" with a total length of around 45" X 5" high. Those dimensions give you about 17" of length to set the door on. Ample even for a 24" panel. I also increased the height by 1" to give more clearance to load and unload the door and not hit the support above.
These dimensions will nest 18 pieces per 4X8 sheet using a 1/4" bit.

You will still need some sort of wide base sufficient to keep the assembled tower from tipping over. Like the one shown in Kevin's photos.

Center column 10" inside dog bone fillets, tabs, and 47" width! Still assuming 0.75 ply 4'x8'

This ONE file is only split in half(ish) its not two files designed to be cut separately.

Here's a stack style door tree, like the one Joe did, that I have cut and has sufficient clearance for easy load and unload.

Uses 3/4 ply, 4x8, makes 18 rails per sheet that interlock in a square pattern.

You will still need to attach a large square base to the two bottom rails to prevent tipping when loaded.
