This is a sign that will be in front of the new library in our area. It is 6 ft x 4 ft, 6 sided, with 3D releif carvings , and I beleive it's around 35 seperate tool paths. It is attatched to an MDO shell and framework that will rest atop a dry stack stone monument.
The sign is a fully dimensional book taken from a painting that is located in the library. It's hard to see in the photos, but when looking at the first view you can see the individual pages. Pretty cool project ! Keith did a really good job on the design work.
We started the painting process today, and it should be a real hum dinger when all 17 colors are complete ! I'll post more photos when it's done.

It is funny how you wind up with tons of toolpaths when making a project. It looks very cool.
Can i ask what might seem like a dumb question? Why is the bookbinding on the wrong side of the book? Or am i just looking at it wrong?

My guess is that both sides of the sign is to appear as the front of the book, hence one side by default will need to have the binding on the "wrong" edge. The focal point will be the face of the book, (which is superb) from either side of the sign and the binding will be a finishing touch.

That's a beautiful display, Mike and I'm excited to the see the progress pictures and the finished project.

Nathan is right this sign will be out on main street , it has the address on both sides! The front and the back are the same!
