Here are some of the signs we have made over the last couple of months. I hope you like them. Let me know what you think.

Thanks Jack. The trunk lids are made up of 2" strips of .75 pine cut on an angle with a tablesaw. once cut i layed them all out top down on a 4 strips of tape and glued each joint. after the glue was spread out i pulled the lid into shape using the tape as a clamp. for the end caps i cut a template on the bot and used a router to basically run a .75" dado around the inside of the sides of the lid. then the actual sides of the lid were cut on the bot to fit perfectly into the dado cut using the template. (i hope that makes sense. I knew i should have taken pictures.) :)

Good looking signs Tyler.
How are you painting and how/what are you using for a finish?

Eric, we have been carving through a paint mask and then using one shot to paint most of the signs, on the larger surfaces we use a outdoor latex paint. As a finish we are using a three coats of a outdoor spar varnish. But after reading about your techniques i am convinced that your way is much more cost effective. I am now looking into finding stencil ink and timber oil locally.
Its so nice to have other craftsmen on here that do the same things as i do. I continue to learn so much from all of you, Thank you.
