I have a customer that is looking for 1" x 3.5" x .125" lexan blanks. Do any of you guys know where I can get some online? I was thinking about cutting them on a table saw but the edges have to be smooth and can't have saw marks. He doesn't want the edges appear sanded either.

I can't point you to a supplier, but my experience with Lexan is that it cant be cut without a sanded edge. I suppose you could take it up to 6000 grit, but You cant laser it, you cant flame polish it, so unless you can get someone to manufacture it in those sizes, I would like to see if its possible to get them any other way.

I pulled this from router forums.

You shouldn't need to register for it to view.

I may be incorrect, but I believe Plexi is another name for Acrylic, & Lexan is a brand of polycarbonate. Acrylic will flame polish & Lase, poly wont. Dont ask:-(

Been there, done that...thousands of them.

Buy a triple chip blade for your table saw & chop saw. Rip em in strips. Set up a jig & chop them to length.

Get a buffer wheel for your bench grinder and buff the edges with Novus plastic polish (available @ plastic supply).
