We had a 6.0 earthquake here with the epicenter just 20 miles from me and it knocked me over as i was running up the stairs from the basement (possibly a combination of shaking and 2 left feet) but it went on for like 30 seconds. I knew what it was but never had experienced one that heavy.
I went out and checked the shop and just had some minor things fall off shelves but nothing major.....oh no here comes an aftershock!!:eek::D:rolleyes:
Are you OK Jack?
My niece reported shacking in Virginia.

charlottesville, virginia. The epicenter was in mineral virginia about 20 miles away. It wasn't scary and it actually was kind of interesting to experience because you get a rush of adrenaline once you realize immediately what it is and walls shake and the ground rumbles and tremors.http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif

Can a ShopBot stand up to a 6.0 quake ?
Did the table collapse ?
The only quake i have ever been in reminded me of coming off a bad drunk weekend:D LOL

Hey Jack, glad that you're all ok.
Had my shop shake here in Toronto. I had just sat down to eat and all of a sudden the old factory building I am in on the second floor was slowly rolling like a boat in a slow swell. Went back and forth like six times. Real slow no shaking.
Not a fan!

I didn't feel it here...but the grandfather clock pendulum and chimes slapped about a bit. The lamps were shaking and a few other things. I just came in from outside & thought maybe I was walking a bit heavy footed - so I tried jumping up & down to duplicate to no avail. Then I knew it was an earthquake. Just kinda strange to hear it was in VA of all places. I thought CA was supposed to fall into the ocean 1st :D

Hey Jack: How are you doing. Twenty miles is very close. Hope you and your family are well. I just read the post, and could not believe it. I had just contacted you about the wall panels you made. We are in NY and felt it. More of a rumble than a quake here though. Hope all is well. Joe
