This is our table fabricated for the 917th Fighter Group Commander at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana.
Material used is 8qtr African Mohagany, 1/2" 7075 T6 Alum, Scrap A-10 Thunderbolt 30MM gatlin gun barrels for the legs and Envontec bartop Epoxy.
All programmed with Aspire. Wood was machined on our PRT 48X96 Shopbot, and the Alum was Machined on our Fadal 4020 Machining Center.
3 Coats of Bartop epoxy buries everything.
Pretty fun project,

Kelly

Most excellent!

One question: Are the fighter group emblems epoxy? stickers? hand painted?

I learned something on your treatment of the repetitions of the LA outlines. I like the way you angled up to them so they would have greater strength and not be frail before you backfilled with epoxy! I had not thought of that- and it makes perfect sense to me.

Any other tips or notes you can pass on to your fellow botters?

Thanks for sharing some really nice quality work with us!

Was this a project contracted by the individual or did our tax dollars pay for this???
