Foam Board Attachement

OK we have our first foam board sign done and ready to mount to a 3/4" MDO wood back. What recomendation can I get from the experts on how to attach to the MDO board? I would think some stainless steel sheet metal screws through the MDO and into the foam board with a little epoxy on the screws? Or do we need to create a pocket of epoxy or someting in the back of the foam board for the screw to screw into? Its going to be installed outside so we want to make sure its going to hould up in the cold wet Michigan weather.

Joe Crumley has at least a dozen posts explaining this. Do a search of the sign forum. He explains metal and wood reinforcements. The man wrote the book on sign construction.
