Saw blade mounted in CNC?

Has anyone seen or actually mounted a circular saw type blade on a CNC (spindle or router) so that the blade cuts in a horizontal plane?

I thought I remember someone on the forum had done so a few years ago, but I am unable to find any reference.

They have special blades and arbors that you can use but they have a wider kerf then normal blades. Usually used in big iron machines for production cutting. The guy i bought my PRT off of had it in his $25000.00 cabinet machine on the tool changer. This setup actually had the blade vertical and it rotated to the angle of the cut, plunged, cut and repositioned.

or are you talking about slitting saws. they are small and have small kerfs a few hundredths

I have watched one used on bigger cnc's but you have to plan the cuts well make sure you use lead in's and out so the saw does not raise at the end of a cut.
