I have a co-worker who lost his Father and is looking for a brick engraving.
The church they go to has a "walk of memories" That has the names of past relatives carved in them. I had showed the co-worker what I had put onto my fathers tombstone when he passed and he asked if I could do something similar for his brick.
Now granite and brick is a heck of a difference and I have a shopbot not a laser but I thought I would ask if this was possible.

I'll be the first to say, It isn't a good idea to machine a brick on the Bot. All that stone dust is going to get all over the place...and no bit is going to hold up very well without coolant - there goes your spoilboard.

I know it seems 'round the world', but I would cast brick-colored concrete into a foam box that has the inverted artwork you want at the bottom of the box. Pull it out & you're ready to go.

Just an idea...
