I am working on a project. I was given a modular rocking chair to mass produce for a class of special education students. The guy got it at a thrift shop and doesn't know the back ground. It was cut out on a CNC machine. It fits together very nicely. I am not sure what the material is made out of. I made the test seat of of MDF, but it split. MDF seems to be more flaky and this material does not seem to be flaky.

3/4" thick

The material looks a lot like MDF, but has the color of an untempered masonite. The fibers are visible and it is not particle board.

Do they make hardboard 3/4" thick? Or is there a thing such as High Density Fiber Board?

If yes, do you know of a supplier to purchase this material.

Can't be sure from the description but it could be paperstone. It mills very nice and is quite strong.

1000.00 for chair material that stuff is extremely expensive.
