here is a steampunk award that i made for an upcoming sp-con. I made a best in show, 1st - 3rd place. There are gears in the letters !! BTW: This will recieve a faux brass and patina finish by the cllient. I hope to get a final photo.

that will look neat once the finishes are put on to make it look like seperate parts. You don't notice the gearing in the letters till you take a close look. I hope they accentuate that to show the detail. Good job!:D

I hope they do a good job on the gears. The precision of the cuts was really great. I was very proud of my PRS. I know its not the super cool alphas with the closed loop but it did a great job.

Material is MDF
roughed with a 1/4" endmill upspiral 5"/Sec
finished with a 1/8" tapered ball mill 1degree30minute taper 3"/Sec
vcarve with a 1/2" 30degree evgraver 1.5"/Sec

Here are the painted plaques. Not how i would have painted them but as long as the check cashes the customer is always right . :)

re; the painting. It looks like gold 1st place, silver 2nd, bronze 3rd, combination of all 4th looks good to me

The girl who painted it is a recent high school grad who was a mascot for the event. Not a sign painter at all. So I praised the work and I think it was great for what it was. :) Some folks just having a great time. :cool:
