This could make a great plenum board! It is cheap, waterproof, and mills nice.

NewWood panels are now available in 4' x 8' sheets and are 7/16" thick. The introductory price per sheet is $35. (http://www.millworkoutlet.com/our-blog.html)

Justin & Brady,

Thanks for bring NewWood to my attention. Their manufacturing plant is only about a hour from me.

I sent them an e-mail with a ton of questions and they were nice enough to send me 8 PDF files of specifications, applications, preparations for painting, FAQ's, and 4 others. I have zipped the 8 PDF files and put them in my Dropbox.com (http://Dropbox.com) account. The link to the PDF files is http://db.tt/njcX88vF.

As a side note, you can download any type of file on this site and they give you 2 GB for FREE.:)

I think this material will work very well for exterior signs in the Northwest, where it has a been known to rain once in a while. Looking at the properties, I think this may be a very good, inexpensive, option for a spoilboard.
I spoke with Steven, and he is sending me a sample of the material. I should have it in the next few days. Since this is a national/international forum he suggested that any additional questions or contact be directed to the e-mail address: info@newwood.com. Their telephone number is 360-482-0888.

I look forward to everyone's feedback after looking over the PDF files.

Disclaimer: I am in no way connected to NewWood.

Hardwood Industries now has a truckload of NewWood in stock. Their distribution centers in Portland, Bend, Medford, and Seattle will all stock this by next week.

Steve from NewWood lives just a few miles from me and travels by my day job quite often. I mentioned that I was going to get some just to mess around with and see how it would cut. He gave me a couple of sheets and I agreed to cut him a Triceratops.

I used a 2 flute up spiral @ 10,000 RPM and 2.3 IPS. I cut real nice and with a relatively smooth for the porosity of the material. I used about 2/3rds of a sheet and the finished size was about about 62" long and 28" high.
Since we thought it may be used for a trade show or public display, I ran a bearing bit on both sides to clean up the edges.

It went together nice and tight. I think it looks pretty good. I have posted some photos on www.Dropbox.com (http://www.Dropbox.com). Here is a link...

I have not cut my sign yet. I wish I would cut the sign. This year it has rained a lot and cold!

OK, I think I have it now!

I wanted to show several images so I went this route instead of posting on the forum.

I never could seem to get Dropbox to work for me but my son said do this, do that, yada, yada, yada...

Try this link, I have had much more success...

If this does not work, I will post a couple on the forum.
