Students were involved.
The art teacher designed the sign.
I did the tool paths, since it was the first time. If I did more, I know the steps to bring the student make the tool paths.
I did most of the machining, it was about 16 hours of machining over 2 days. I involved my machining classes in the process.
My welding class build and welded the frame.
Several art students painted the sign.
Then the welding class mounted the frame.
Cool sign and even cooler to have the students participate!

Looks like a great sign Greg, way to get the students and so many others involved! I try to get my kids involved now and then and the interest just isn't there. There is no shopbot at our school either. :(

Hey Melissa,
If you put an I in front of it and call it a I-Shopbot (like an Iphone, Ipod, Ipad) and stick an Apple logo on it maybe they will get interested.:D
I know the feeling, my two older teenage grandchildren have no interest in working with wood or the shopbot but the younger 10 yr old has done 3 or 4 projects with me. I guess you have to start them off early.
