not sure if it is the 4s or ios 5 but even though my phone and the computer connect I can't control it.

Steve,

I don't have a new enough device to run ios 5, but just to do a little trouble shooting, be sure that WinRemote Server is running (icon in the tray). If it is, click on it an make sure that "Start with windows" is checked. Go to "Access Control" and delete any hosts allowed and minimize it back to the tray (Don't close it as that will exit the program). Then use the app to "Scan" for the address. A box asking to allow should pop up. At that point, make sure that SB3 has focus and the app should work. You may also have to make sure that your firewall is allowing WinRemote.

If you happen to have another wifi signal that your device may pick up, make sure you're connected to the right one on your device.

I have noticed that since ios 4 that Apple is modulating the wifi strength/meter (likely to save battery life when wifi isn't being used) and at times a button press is not recognized until the wifi kicks up again. :(

If you can't get it to work at all with ios 5, let me know and I'll get in touch with the programmer of the app.

ok the strange thing. the first time win remote found the new phone but that was is. scanning would not work. well today it did but some of the buttons would not work. but after playing with it a bit they started working. I think the keyboard button was active even though ti was not working. all seems well now.

I updated my Touch to iOS 5 today. Happy to report that the ShopBot remote works the same as it always has. (phew!)
