VERY clever Joe !!! Over the years a lot of people have toyed with the concept of a "stand alone indexer", glad to see someone has finally pulled it off ...

VERY NICE where did you you get the linear bearings and rails?

The linear rails and bearings came from E-BAY. Lots of it there. The rails and bearings used to modify my PRT 96, came from there as well.

It looks similar to the Legacy Ornamental mill. How much effort and expense do you have invested in your setup? Do you control it using the shopbot software? What type of turnings do you do with your indexer? Very impressive!

The most expensive part was the (6) pieces of 8 foot long 8020 rails, had them around for a long time, do not remembe their cost. The 6 pieces of 2x7 u-channel used for legs were 1.00 a pound from recycle center. DC moter and controller was about 225 dollers. The y, Z axis was off E-BAY was 150. The .75 linear rails and bearing from E-BAY as well was about 75 dollers with shipping. The stepper moters were from SHOPBOT, and the PRT controller was from a fellow shopboter on this forum. The white acrilic material used to box it in was from some scraps that I had left over from another project
