Serial Port

I have a old PR machine that I love. Still running DOS on it. The old computer on it is getting flakey. I got a new Gigabyte MB and built up a new computer for it. I have DOS loaded and the SB software. All seems to work OK, until I connect the serial cable to the serial port. It will not connect and seems to not see the serial port. I checked the serial port address and it is the same as the old computer. I tried another new computer and the same problem. Then I hooked the old computer back up and it worked just fine, so I know the cable is good. The DOS version is the same on the old and new computers. It seems that the new MB and DOS may not get along.
Any ideas??

Update your MoBo drivers/firmware/BIOS. Then go into BIOS and make sure that the serial port is activated.
