Guys,
I am having a problem with my C2 Command. I have sent an email to Frank, but want to get this resolved quickly and they may not see the request soon due to weekend, time of day and all.. SO I thought i would pose it to the gurus here.
I lost the ability to use my C2 command. When I try, it says "command not supported". This happened one night when the machine locked up on me- and has been this way for a while. I am pretty sure it is just a variable that got fouled up when the machine burped. But I need to figure it out and fix it.
Thus far, I have deleted the old SB3 ini file ( twice) and then reloaded the software for SB3, from the ground up ( twice) same result.
So, I type C2 and wait for the machine to go to 5,5. It does not move at all. It comes back with a response "Command not supported" please look at the three warning screens I get and tell me what you think (see appended photos).

Monty, may not be the same problem but today I had a similiar problem of not being able to use the C2 command. I loaded the the Shopbot program a few times with no luck. I then totally deleted the program from my computer and and that solved the problem. I never found out what the problem was. The program would not overwrite itself so that is why I had to delete it. Hope this helps.

Monty,
It looks like something may have gotten corrupted in your 'my_variables.sbc' file. Have you tried running 'Tools/ShopBot Setup'? The file should have been recreated when you reinstalled, but maybe not. When running setup, you can enter where you want the tool to zzero at (5,5) and to always zero at that location. You can also just manually edit the my_variables.sbc file with the values you want. While looking at the file, look for any apostrophes (') that may be missing where there might be some comments as that can cause an unsupported command error.
I can't see the third picture to well, but I'm guessing that something is wrong in the file before that point that is sending it to the 'change units' sub routine.
Look at your errors and the stated line number and then look in the file at that point to see if something is wrong there.
Can you manually move the machine to a spot and instead of issuing a C2, try loading the zzero file directly (C:\SBparts\Zzero.sbp). You could also try loading the my_variables.sbc file and see if that file throws up the error. That would tell which file is causing it if that's the problem.

I have reloaded the file (couple times now). But I have not done all that Scott recommends. I will go try that right now. That sounds promising.

Scott
Thank you. Your assessment was correct. It was the 'my variables" file. And Frank -being the good guy that he is, responded today- when he probably was not even on duty at Shopbot (or at least that is what I chose to believe) and gave me just a bit more information... I had already deleted an ini file (repeatedly) as Frank had previously told me, and that did not fix it. I had reloaded and reloaded and reloaded... nothing seemed to fix it. I had uninstalled the SB3 program a couple times, as well. He probably was telling me to remove the Sbparts file but I didn't "get it"!
Anyway, what finally fixed it was to delete the entire SBParts file (Thanks Frank, for clarifying!), and then reinstall SB3. After that, it works perfectly!
I really appreciate your insight Scott. With your suggestions and Frank's I got her opertaing exactly as she should again!
Thanks!
Monty
