Earlier this week I finally got my dial indicator tram built with an 11.5" radius. Trammed the table to within .004" (eureka). Dressed the spoilboard before I went home. Everything looked great in the morning but a little dusty. Cleaned up and fired the Bot. The computer complained some about the dust and finally died early P.M. (dang or worse). Dust in the RAM chips finally got cleaned out after 50 mile round trip to my computer guru. Went back to the shop and built a positive pressure, filtered box for all electronics. Bot seems to run fine now except when it is changing direction it pauses like it is thinking about it before it makes the turn. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks Bob Moore

Sorry. I have a 96 x 48 PRT with PW 2.505 and Shop Bot 3.4.30.

Any programs running in the background of Windows? Something looking for an update (Window Update) ? Open the Task Manager and see what is running.

I don't know why they would have gotten changed, but you can check your VR values to see if they are out of whack.

Also, run the SpeedTest.exe in ProgramFiles/Shopbot/Diagnostic folder. If your version of SB3 is too old to have it, I'd suggest downloading the latest version of SB3, installing it & ALSO installing the firmware to match. SB3 must be closed to run the SpeedTest, which checks your communication rate.

Guessing this is a 4G PRT, since you are running a newer version than 3.4.27, which is for 3G and older PRTs. Correct?

Thanks for the quick response Brady. I will check right away in the morning but I am not sure what VR is. Before I talk to Shopbot I need to ask about problems with the latest versions of SB software. Is it stable with no problems and will it handle the PW version 2.505? I won't be able to update PW until spring.

The latest version of the control software is backwards compatible with ALL CAD/CAM software that outputs code for a ShopBot. It doesn't sound to me like your design or toolpathing software (PartWorks) has anything to do with the issues you are having.

Yes it is the 4G prt upgrade. I am running xp with 2 gigs of memory. I only have SB and PW on the computer. No internet, screensaver, or anything else I can think of.

Thanks Brady for all of your help. It apparantly was the VR that was the issue. When I installed the upgrade the SB software everything was fixed.
