Does anyone know how to generate G Code for a ShopBot using Pro/E (Pro Engineer)?

My students have designed an airplane wing for a contest and want to machine a sample. I am not sure how to generate the G Code to machine it on the ShopBot.

When cutting G Code anything special I need to do?

I don't know anything about pro engineer but go look at the file output options it gives you for G code. Then go to the shopbot control software and do a
File/Conversion and look at what files it accepts and try to match them up.

Normally you can go to File/Part file load and if you look to the lower right side where the dropdown menu is about 9 different file types it will cut without any type of conversion. Again see if any of those filetypes match the output filetypes you can save from Pro E

Greg...

If the Pro E does not have a postP for ShopBot, then try a generic gcode post.

Here is a link to a doc that shows which gcode commands the SB3 software will read. You may have to edit your postP to eliminate or change the output to match the ShopBot operating system.

May be able to export as STL and import into cut3d if you don't have g-code output option for pro-e
