Honestly guys you'd be surprised. I don't do it as much as i used to but tomahawk and knife throwing is a hobby of mine. With both weapons, throwing them compared to stabbing them into the same target. Throwing them provides better penetration. The kinetic forces at work along with speed is greater then you think. This may however be a trick of the camera. I couldn't imagine someone being that good with hammers.
