I guess this is technically not a fixture but for a project we needed to install a track light, where a larger florescent fixture had been installed.

I decided to make this piece of trim, from brown maple. I used 1/2" vinyl furniture feet to stand it off from the ceiling a bit so it has a nice reveal. I had an electrician install everything.

I cut this out in about 10 minutes on the bot. For an hour and a half of work this was far easier than repairing the ceiling, and repainting, and it looks nicer than just installing the track light on the drywall.

I would have taken the opportunity to get creative with some kind of carving, assuming the room decor would allow it. Good job:)
