So, I am on a kick to see what else I can make from 12mm Baltic Birch and my Buddy.

My poor dog Gibson was eating off a stand I threw together a few years ago when I got him, just something quick I did up to see if he liked it and never made anything better.

Last night while lying in bed watching TV, I drew this up in Aspire, and cut it out this morning when I went to work. I was working in the spray room all day, so I threw on a few coats of clear post cat lacquer (conversion varnish) to make it easy to clean and water resistant.

Gibson seems to like it! He is a tall Hungarian Vizsla, taller than most (his parents were both big). These dogs eat better with raised food and water dishes, keeps their stomachs from twisting. The wife says it looks good too.

I LOVE how simple things like this are, with the CNC. Did I mention I am having a blast with the machine? :)

looks like you can take it apart if needed. Good design. Looks to me like you could make it also into a kids bench design or a twin potty chair:eek:

Shoot, you got you a line of furniture right there! looks good.

Very Nice !! The shopbot is an amazing tool. No end to the things you can make. You seem to be a real innovator keep it up.

Would you share your pattern... If so send it to me as a dxf file... Would love to make a few of those for my dog and friends dogs.

Here is the revised version... with larger (wider) sides and tray due to the larger size bowls we just got.

Thanks, I just have to shoot a few coats of lacquer on it. Right now I am set up to spray a bunch of cabinets white, so I will have to wait to do the dog dish holder for a few days.

I already made one for friends as well!

And you even get three dog bones in the process... what kind of wood is best for dog bones ?
