I needed some "free standing" letters. I wasn't sure how to make the letters stand out as there will not be a background other than the hustle and bustle of a country fair atmosphere. I felt like I needed to outline the letters to give them the most visibility. What I landed up doing was making them from Di-Bond and removing .025 of material for .25" around the perimeter of the letters. This exposed the black polyethylene core and outlined the letters nicely and simply. A light pass with a torch cleaned up any fuzzies quickly. My plan is to epoxy them to landscape nails so they can be pushed into the grass by the canopy. I'm pleased with the results.
