Wondering if the new version releases the file handle on the cut file when its done writing? Currently in v2.5 you cannot eject a removable drive that you have saved a cut file to when the project file is on the fixed drive. After closing aspire you can safely remove hardware. This led me to believe aspire has an open handle to a file or a folder. Upon a little investigation it seems that whatever path the cut file is saved to is locked by aspire. Could this be the file/folder browser control?

Joe,

I'm using 3.5 and it doesn't cause a problem on Win 7. Don't have the older version handy to give it a try, but I don't remember it being a problem. You may want to send a note to the Vectric crew and see what they have to say about it.

Hmm... I have v2.5, and this is definitely not an issue with Aspire. I save/move, etc. the cut file whenever/whenever I want, with the project file still open - and as far as I know Vectric doesn't even offer a Chinese version, let alone program in it. Unless you have a Chinese language OS installed, and Vectric happens to have support for localization, I'd be seriously looking for a virus on your computer...

Well, I was thinking the same thing. But I am on the design box which has internet and Norton Internet Security. This is a legit copy not a pirated copy. I don't have any language packs installed.

Once I'm making excess $$ again I will need to upgrade to the latest version. Seems like so much good stuff in it. Starting with superior tool organization!
