Keep losing my Y

Hi Guys. I'm on a dead line for a very eager customer making some curved molding. I just lost my y for the 3rd time and am about to lose it. When I reboot my control tower by simply turning it off and right back on again it locks right back up? Can anyone push me in the right directionon what may cause only losing the Y.

I am certainly no expert but it seems to me that if it was a communication error then it would be to all axis not just one. That leads me to believe that it might be an issue between the control box and your y stepper. Can you trace your wire and make sure there is no short or other problem?

I've had a similar problem, but not to the extent you are describing. I've been assuming it has something to do with grounding, but haven't been able to determine for sure. Each time it's happened, switching the control box off and back on has restored things. And in case it matters, I'm running a PRS Standard.
