Vacuum Requirements

I have just purchased a shopbot with dual spindles one is a 4hp and the other is 2.2hp. The machine will be used to cut plastic, alluminum, and wood in a sign making setup. I would like any suggetions someone may have on what would be an appropriate size dust collector (CFM). The dust collector will be dedicated to this unit only and will be installed in close proximaty of the shopbot.

Sounds like a nice machine with 2 spindles.
I have a 2HP Harbor Freight dust collector on my machine. It does just fine, don't need any more than that.
Do you have 2 dust feet for the 2 spindles?
Are they 'Yed' together?

I am a firm believer in the cyclone type of dust collector. A much more healthy solution. Do some research on the topic. Plenty of information here and on the web.
