Does anyone know what type of software we would need to cut surfboards on our 2003 prt 4x8 Shop-Bot?

Try this

http://www.shape3d.com/

I believe you can export DXF so you can then import that to aspire or you could produce a .sbp file from the software.

There is a bloke in Surfers Paradise, Australia who used to use a shopbot to shape his boards. It was modified to do the job. Don't know if he is still around.

My question is why use a CNC when it is possibly faster to do it by hand?

This thread from the Vectric forum on using Cut3D for surfboards (Partworks 3D in Shopbot terms) may be of interest.
