Hi Guys,
So I've managed to figure out cutting melamine sheet stock with accurate results...got through 8 sheets of my California closets before hitting a few hiccups. I am in Minnesota (today was like 90 with a heat index of 100 degrees; very humid). After some successful cutting I Keep getting "missing comm port errors" stating its losing connection to the control box...
The first time this happened stopped 3/4 of the way through s sheet of melamine on a file with closet sides that I cut several times flawlessly prior.
Sometimes after I zero the x, y, and z ill jog my bot somewhere on the table and then home and it will stop abruptly at the home corner and give me a motor/drive fault error and tell me I need to reset. But the comm port 4 error as well....
I can get through powering on the bot, zeroing the axis' jogging, and then a comm port error.
I've checked my grounding over....typical cabinet shop, several dust collectors, saws, vacuums all running on separate circuits. Could be a grounding issue.
The first time I reset it (zeroed the bot) re-started my cutting file it re-cut my closet sides at 15 3/4'' deep instead of 16'' deep. And for whatever reason when I powerd up my bot without zeroing the z axis it cuts about 1/8'' deeper into my brand new bleeder board. First lesson learned: zero the x y and z EVERY TIME! I made a point to take some screen shots of the error messages but I'll have to figure out how to post them on the forum for viewing. Anyone having similar issues?
I'm running a 96 x 48 PRT Alpha with Windows XP on a dedicated bot computer with nothing else running, and no connection to the www. Checked cable connections, proxys light up with metal contact.
