Yes they both are great programs. If you can swing it Aspire does everything that Vcarve pro does and can also make lithos like Photo vcarve. You can get Part works that is the same as Vcarve pro.

One thing you may notice is that arcs/ splines with a few nodes in Autocad will ...for some reason.... ??? have dozens of nodes once imported into Vectric.

Not sure how to prevent this.

The nice thing is that Vcarve has a "fit curves to vectors" function that will help a lot on that front.

i got a trial vcarve and tried to edit some stuff but when i try to make a toolpath it doesnt recognize some vaecters??

Depends on what type of toolpath you're trying to create. Some toolpaths require a closed vector, imported vectors are seldom closed so you would need to use the Join Vector tool (press J) or use the individual close vector icons.
