When C3 machine the spindle should go up until it contacts the proximity switch and then go down slowly and the back up slowly and then back down during normal functions. However, when C3commad is given the spindle head rises past the proximity switch and gits into a bind because it seems like it wants to keep on going upward, However the light on the prox switch does go off when it passes it and then it ends in a driver fauld with #4 blinking red. Does anyone have any suggestion about fixing this issue, This machine is 5 weeks old and just started this problem yesterday and now the machine will not complete a C3.

Which ShopBot do you have?
On the machines I'm familiar with there is no proximity switch on the Z. With the C3 command the Z should move to Safe Z level that you have set and then it should move to the proximity switches on the X and Y axis to set the zero.
If you mean C2 (for setting the Z) rather than C3 (for setting the X and Y) then the same applies. The Z will move to the value you have specified for Safe Z first.
Check the Safe Z Height on the cutter tab or enter VC to check it.
