Cutting alupanel with vinyl applied

I've cut lots of alupanel with a .125 2flute bit,But never with the vinyl applied.
Would it be better to use a drag knife to cut the vinyl first and follow with the straight bit or would the end mill work fine?

I cut it with the plastic still on and it is usually fine. I have cut sintra with vinyl and it was fine. but a downcut to break the surface would be a good idea.

I've done it with a small downcut bit and it worked fine.
