Best material for temporary sign

What would be the best cost wise 1/2" material for a temporary letters(1-2 year)
The letters would be at least 8" tall.
They don't need a mirror finish like acrylic and can be painted
It's for a sales office for a condo development

Some thing like that I would use 12mm sintra

Just about anything out of scrap you might have laying around that is weather resistant.
