I am cutting colorcore with a 30 degree .010 radius tip engraving bit for some small signs. The logo has a lot of intricate detail and I can't seem to get rid of the "fuzzies" in the cut line. I could sit here for hours and scrpa them out by hand but it would be so much sweeter if someone could help me out with some speeds and feeds. Pretty please with a cherry on top....

BTW- not having any problem with lager diameter tools. besided the engraving bit I am using a 1/16", 1/32", and a 1/64". only the 1/64" and the engaver are giving me problems.

I too was hoping for better results with my last colorcore project. I ended up using 3 different bits throughout the project, never feeling as though I had mastered feed/speeds for anything. Of the three used(centurion tools colorcore bit, upcut spiral, and SE spiral O flute), I preferred the spiral O. With a speed of 1ips/5k RPM, I could keep the fuzzies to a minimum and still run a 1/16" bit with alot of detail. I used a pressure sprayer to remove the last of them.

on larger stuff its no problem but when i do the small detailed stuff I still get fuzzies and foldovers at the corners. i can cut and trim them out but man is it a pain in the butt.

Not much you can do. Try a quick pass with a blow torch to melt some of them back; sometimes with that you can just run your finger over 'em when they're cool and take them right off.

Has anyone tried a small triangular scraper to clean out the "fuzzies"
you may want to ease the edge to prevent gouging though
