Milwaukee issues

I use a Milwaukee router and lately I've had issues with the tachometer just disintegrating after just an hour or less of use. Has anyone else had this happen? I assume it has to do with the drilling of my shelf holes but they usually last a year or so before they blow up.

It appears I jumped the gun thinking it was the tachometer this time. After inspecting the new tach, I noticed that they are made of a different, stronger material now. However, after switching out the speed controller and brushes, it still will not maintain a constant speed. Is this router toast?
