My first (maybe my only) bass guitar. I thought I'd share this - which turned out to be a 13 month project, since I could only work on it in my spare time. A special thanks to Tim McKnight for some key advice early in the project. Even though he builds acoustic guitars, his general knowledge of some of the unique processes was a great help.

Gary, if you are asking - Do I play the bass and build things, the answer is yes. If you are asking if I play the bass just as well as build things, then that's up for debate. But yes, I play with our local church's contemporary music group. Since it was going to be used in church, I custom made the small cross for the truss rod cover (at the headstock).
Andrew, yes, walnut with a swirling burl that matches the sweep of the design. Then birdseye maple, walnut strips, and hard maple for the neck extending through the body.
