I wanted to share the way I attach the valance in the kitchen.
I use hinges, it's way better than trying to nail or screw it in place. You also have the adjustments as well and with zero touch up.
In this case shown the home owner said he really liked the fact that he could move it to hang his light fixture.

thanks guys, I know I get lots of great ideas on here so I thought I would share some right back. I am not the cnc guru many of you guys are but I have been building cabinets for a few weeks now and have learned a few tricks.

I thought about this job,
This was before the valance idea hit me it may have been when it hit.
Anyway you can see both a ref door and a valance in this shot.
Note the ref door grain in the panel and that the door is hung from the top like a flap. Some folks are not found of this idea but I try to hand the doors above the valance the same way. I would advise a flap stay on a door!
Those doors can be very short vertically and rather wide by comparison.
So this way they are more stable.
This wood is Hickory I really like hickory but man is it hard!
