In the next few weeks I might have some questions on the SB interface and control system. As some of you know my PRT runs on mach 3 and I'll be taking a job three days a week down state running their PRT along with doing their 3d modeling.

Randy...
Download the SB3 software to a computer at home. Look under the Help menu for "Keyboard Shortcuts" and the commands "Quick Reference". Look these over. Since you are CNC familiar, it shouldn't take too long to get familiar with SB3. There are also docs that show you how to do it all with the mouse. SB3 commands are fairly easy to learn as moves use [M] and jogs use [J]. There are also a good number of command line options available that Mach doesn't have that can be very useful.

Note: You will need to have Adobe Reader or another PDF reader installed on your computer to view these files.

Once learned, these shortcuts can allow you to use a small programmable keypad as a remote pendant.

Thanks Gary

That's actually next weeks task. Right now i'm getting used to Solidworks and running some advanced sketchup models for the meeting monday. Thanks for the keypad tip. I have one on my machine and I honestly don't know how I could live without one.

Randy,
If you use mach then the shopbot interface is a breeze to run. The mach interface to me is very confusing and not very user friendly where the shopbot interface is pretty easy

Gary,

as you know I did quite a bit of programming for our "heel" friend
but you said

"There are also docs that show you how to do it all with the mouse."

Are these shopbot manuals?

Also Ryan was working on some classes for programming... was there docs from that or do you need to attend the class.

Many thanks
Bob Condon
