Has any one wrote a Android ShopBot app?

I've thought about making my custom PC interface Android based but the potential support issues give me a headache!

It wouldn't be too tricky to just do the keypad on Android but I don't really see the benefit in that as it's much easier to use a gamepad.

Here is my personal favorite. I program them to have all the keystrokes that are used in the SB keypad, including "C" which lets me move the machine, call custom files, zero any axis and start and run files.

I have tested them with up to 16' extensions and they work well in all cases. Much better luck than I used to have with wireless keyboards and mice. A needed replacement for the old " ShopBot Pendant*", especially when you can have all the keys that you need right on the table.

*Due to its use of inputs 1-4, the pendant will not work with alpha or RBK standard controls.

I use the wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows. Programing it was not to difficult.

Brady and Gary--

Do you ever see any problems with the extra USB port in use? (or Gary, are you using one of the PS/2 port models?)

Not on my machine - but I run a PCI to USB card that the SB runs on exclusively. This leaves the USB on the mobo for peripherals like USB KB & Mouse. I have seen USB peripherals cause problems when on the same BUS as the SB USB, which is why I separate them.

I just paid 2.99 for the ipad app, it looks like it will work, I just wish my bot was here.... It is in Nashville, on a truck headed to my house :)

the wait is almost over.

I'm thinking about getting the ipad shopbot app but i'm a bit hesitant in wanting to take the ipad into a dusty emvironment.

You know, it just might.. Theoretically, if I used port forwarding on my router, I could control the shopbot from here in San Antonio, whilst the bot was back in Arkansas. I could watch it with the webcam

I am not sure my 110lb 4 11 wife would want to change out the 4x8 sheets of plywood for me.

Yellow freight just called, the bot is on the dock. My son i law will pick it up this afternoon! Woo Hoo!
